ASPHALT

Asphalt is a versatile and durable material used for paving roads, driveways, and other surfaces.

HISTORY

The Dakota Asphalt Pavement Association (DAPA) has a rich history of promoting the advancement and quality of asphalt pavements in North Dakota and South Dakota. Established to support the asphalt industry, DAPA has been instrumental in fostering collaboration among contractors, suppliers, and government agencies. Over the years, the association has provided valuable resources, training, and advocacy to improve asphalt standards and practices. DAPA has played a crucial role in developing best practices for asphalt pavement construction and maintenance, ensuring safer, more durable roads and infrastructure. Through its commitment to innovation, education, and sustainability, the Dakota Asphalt Pavement Association has become a cornerstone in the region's paving industry, continually driving progress and excellence in asphalt pavement.

It's On Us

Asphalt Pavement plays a role in connecting us, from bustling city streets to quiet roads leading to the farm. These roads are the lifeline of our communities, supporting transportation, agriculture, and everyday life. We all have a shared responsibility to maintain these vital connections through proper asphalt care. By addressing cracks, potholes, and other damages promptly, we can extend the life of these roads, ensuring safer and smoother journeys for everyone.

ADVANTAGES

Asphalt Offers numerous advantages as a paving material, making it a popular choice for roads, driveways, and parking lots. It is cost-effective and provides a smooth, durable surface that can withstand heavy traffic and varying weather conditions. Asphalt is also quick to install and easy to repair, minimizing disruption and maintenance costs. Its flexibility allows it to adapt to temperature changes and ground movements, reducing the risk of cracks and potholes. Additionally, asphalt is environmentally friendly, as it is 100% recyclable and can be reused in new paving projects.

RECYCLABILITY

Asphalt is highly recyclable, making it an environmentally sustainable choice for paving projects. Unlike many construction materials, asphalt can be reclaimed and reused multiple times without losing its quality or performance characteristics. During the recycling process, old asphalt is milled, crushed, and mixed with new asphalt and other materials to create fresh pavement. This not only conserves natural resources buy also reduces the need for new raw materials, lowering the environmental impact. The recycling of asphalt also minimizes waste in landfills and decreases the carbon footprint associated with asphalt production and transportation.
